We have pleasure in confirming details of our latest regional meeting for careers teachers and education advisers in Yorkshire. This will take place at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield on Thursday 8 June 2017.
Lunch will be available at 12:30 and the meeting will begin at 13:30. An open forum will follow the presentations in which those present can network, share ideas and exchange examples of good practice. The meeting will finish at 15:30.
Our speaker Alice Shepherd FCA comes highly recommended. Alice will talk about the careers available in finance, accounting and banking, always a popular career choice for students. She will also cover the relevant degree courses and give an overview of the apprenticeship possibilities.
Alice is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Accounting and Finance at Leeds University. She is a chartered accountant and previously worked in practice at PwC and trained graduates for professional accounting qualifications at Kaplan Financial. Before joining the University of Leeds, she was a lecturer at Manchester Business School (part of the University of Manchester).
Optional: Centigrade Training Course 10:00 – 12:00
In addition to the main meeting, there will be an opportunity to learn how to make the best use of Centigrade, COA's HE selection programme for students. Centigrade matches a student's interests and abilities with HE courses and institutions in the UK, Ireland, Australasia, Canada and those in Europe offering undergraduate degrees taught in English.
