With UK tuition fees set to rise in 2012, many students are looking to Europe and considering the range of HE courses now taught in English. One university that has attracted wide media coverage and a considerable rise in applications from the UK is Maastricht University. Increasingly more and more students, advisors and parents are asking: what is it like to study at a European University, which courses are taught in English, how much does it cost and what are the career prospects post-graduation? To address these key issues, COA will be holding an overseas conference in Maastricht.
The COA Overseas Conference will be held from 18 - 20 June 2012. Topics covered will include:
- An introduction to Maastricht University
- Problem-Based Learning in action
- Liberal Arts and Sciences - the UCM Programme
- The Student Experience - life as a UK student in Maastricht and the most popular courses taught in English
- Admissions procedure, housing options and financial issues
- Visits to and presentations in different faculties including Law, Arts, Liberal Arts, Business and Economics, Knowledge Engineering and Public Health
- Courses at other universities in the Netherlands including Leiden, Groningen, and Utrecht
- Information stands from a number of other European universities
- Student guided tour of Maastricht
