Preview Careers Guidance ProgrammePreview is a careers guidance programme for those aiming at AS/A levels, IB or equivalent examinations. Preview assesses a student’s interests, abilities and personal qualities and matches them with needs and requirements of more than 45 broad career areas. From this a workbook is produced which shows the student's own career direction and asks a range of questions for the student to address. Students are then encouraged to undertake careers research using the Careers Analysis Forms, the Careers Directory and relevant work experience. The Preview workbook presents to the adviser a picture of the young person's stronger occupational and academic interests. In addition to identifying careers the student may already be thinking about, it can also reveal a range of closely related and well-matched careers which may not have been considered previously. To assist in choosing sixth form subjects, the workbook contains subject selection and availability charts. These help students choose sixth form subjects to meet the entry requirements for their more likely higher education and careers needs. Basic package for each student includes

Testimonials“Preview is invaluable in encouraging students to think about their career and higher education options. The workbooks are full of clearly presented information, which almost always stimulates plenty of discussion and further research.” Felsted School “The interviewing team were their usual ‘sparkling’ selves and managed to draw out our most timid and disaffected pupils as well as inspiring the more capable ones. The fact that a considerable number of my pupils made a special point of seeing me to convey their positive views, speaks for itself.” Reigate Grammar School How is the effectiveness of Preview assessed? We place the technical quality of our programmes high on our list of priorities. The services of a well-established occupational psychologist, Dr Charles Johnson, are used to evaluate the technical characteristics and properties of all our programmes and ensure they are both valid and reliable. |
