We have pleasure in confirming details of our latest regional meeting for careers teachers and education advisers in the South West at Dauntsey’s School on Tuesday 21 May and hope you will be able to join us.

We are delighted to have two fantastic speakers to enlighten us about Careers in Engineering and STEM. With the world of work changing rapidly, the field of Engineering is expanding exponentially, and we need more students to fill these exciting, global roles. We are lucky enough to have two speakers who can demonstrate how adaptable and varied the skills gained from an engineering education can be, to help us encourage our students to consider this route.

Revis James, a Power Generation Engineer, started as a nuclear engineer involved in the design and construction of nuclear power plants, he now works in applied research on a wide variety of technologies related to electric power generation.

Chris Walters, a Senior Electronic Engineer and STEM volunteer working for Siemens Mobility in Chippenham, who will talk about his experience in Electronics, Communications and Railway signalling as well as share his experiences of working on an international level.

The meeting will commence at 11.30 and finish at 16.00. It will start with an open forum in which those present can share ideas and exchange examples of good practice, followed by lunch at 13.00 and then at 14.00 there will be a presentation by our speakers. You can join us for part of the day if you wish, please let us know.
